Wall Heath Tennis Club in Kingswinford approached the Trust for funding to support a project to rebuild the Club as a Community Tennis Hub. The intention was to enable to club to further promote, develop and sustain tennis at all levels of the community, and to provide opportunities for recreation, coaching and competition.
The clubhouse and tennis courts are well used throughout the year, but were in a state of deterioration which made them increasingly difficult and costly to maintain. Ibstock Cory Environmental Trust contributed £15,000 to the project, which included the replacement of the mobile clubhouse with a more substantial construction. The new Community Tennis Hub has encouraged schools to make use of the sports facilities, while the building is also used by the wider community and other groups.
Cory Environmental Trust in Britain also awarded a grant of £50,000 towards the £100,000 project.
