Enovert Community Trust offered a grant of £38,000 towards the project at Willsbridge Mill’s community café , which has been used to extend the café kitchen and purchase labour and time saving appliances to cope with increased demand.
Susan Smith, Treasurer of Willsbridge Mill Community Refresh, which runs the café and Mill, said: “The café is the heart of the site and the extension was vital to help us keep up with increased demand. The dated kitchen has been replaced with a commercial-style kitchen, including new wall cladding, non-slip flooring and all new appliances.
“The space is now bright and cheerful with comfortable seating for our customers. The opening at the start of March was our busiest weekend on record and the new kitchen will help us cater for the increasing numbers of people visiting the Mill.”
Angela Haymonds, Trust Secretary of Enovert Community Trust said: "Willsbridge Mill Community Refresh is a fantastic not-for-profit organisation that uses the refurbished mill buildings to facilitate community engagement. The Trustees were delighted to provide a grant to support the renovation and extension works to the community café, all profits from which are used to support ongoing work and projects at the Mill.”
